Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern (Easy One-Skein Project)

This infinity scarf is worked flat in a simple shell stitch, then seamed into a loop at the end — no seaming skill beyond a basic slip stitch join required. One skein of a soft worsted weight yarn is usually enough.

Materials

• 1 skein worsted weight yarn (approx. 200g / 350m)
• 5.5mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle

Sizing

This pattern makes a single-loop infinity scarf about 60" around and 8" wide. For a double-loop wrap, simply make it twice as long.

Shell Stitch Pattern (multiple of 6 + 2)

Chain a multiple of 6, plus 2 (for example, chain 44).

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook and next 2 ch. skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch. Repeat from * across. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 2 sts. skip 2 sts, 5 dc in center of next shell, skip 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * across, ending dc in top of turning chain. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 until your piece measures 8 inches wide (this becomes the width once seamed into a loop), or your desired scarf width.

Seaming Into a Loop

Fold the strip so the first and last rows meet, right sides together. Using a yarn needle and a length of matching yarn, whip stitch or slip stitch the two short edges together to form a continuous loop, being careful to match up the shell pattern so it flows seamlessly.

Finishing

Turn the scarf right-side out and weave in all ends. Wrap once or twice around the neck depending on how snug you like it.

Tip: bulkier yarn makes this project even faster — try a size 5 (bulky) yarn with a 6.5mm hook if you want a chunkier, quicker version.
