Amigurumi Bunny Pattern (Easy Crochet Bunny for Beginners)

This cuddly bunny is one of the most requested first projects for anyone learning amigurumi. It uses only single crochet and a handful of increases and decreases, so if you know the basics you can finish one in an evening.

Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in your bunny's main color (about 50g)
• Small amount of contrast yarn for the inner ears
• 3.5mm crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Two 6mm safety eyes (or embroider eyes with black yarn)
• Yarn needle and stitch marker

• sc — single crochet
• inc — increase (2 sc in same stitch)
• dec — invisible decrease
• st(s) — stitch(es)

Pattern: Head and Body

Worked as one piece, bottom-up, in a continuous spiral. Use a stitch marker to track the start of each round.

4. (2 sc, inc) around (24)
5. (3 sc, inc) around (30) 6–12. sc around, no increase (30) — 7 rounds
6. (3 sc, dec) around (24)

Stuff firmly. Attach safety eyes between rounds 8–9, about 6 stitches apart.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave through remaining stitches and cinch closed.

Fold flat and sew to the top of the head, angled slightly outward.

Finishing

Embroider a small nose and mouth with a few strands of pink or brown yarn. Weave in all ends. Give your bunny a gentle fluff and it's ready for a new home!

Tip: if your stitches look loose, drop down half a hook size — amigurumi should be worked tightly so stuffing doesn't peek through.
