Crochet Coin Purse Pattern (Easy Small Zipper Pouch)

This small zippered pouch is one of the fastest useful projects in crochet — perfect for using up small amounts of leftover yarn, and genuinely handy for coins, earbuds, or lip balm.

Materials

• Small amount of worsted weight yarn (about 20g)
• 4.0mm crochet hook
• A 4-5 inch zipper
• Sewing needle and thread (for attaching the zipper)
• Yarn needle

Pouch Body

Worked as one flat rectangle, folded and seamed at the end.

Chain 16.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Turn. (15 sc)

Rows 2-20: ch 1, sc across. Turn.

This builds a rectangle approximately 4 inches wide and 5 inches tall (10 rows folds to make a 2.5 inch tall pouch — adjust row count for your desired finished size).

Fasten off.

Assembly

Fold the rectangle in half widthwise, right sides together. Single crochet or whip stitch the two side seams closed, leaving the top edge open.

Attaching the Zipper
